The Oklahoma Sooners were the first Americans to claim their 160-acre plots as part of the 1889 Homestead Act.
So … it’s World Menopause Month and you’re wondering what these two things have to do with one another.
LJ100®! It can now officially be targeted to menopausal women with the publication of a brand new study – making it the first and only Tongkat Ali ingredient to provide benefits of easing menopause symptoms.
This year’s theme for World Menopause Month (also known as Menopause Awareness Month), coordinated by the International Menopause Society in collaboration with the World Health Organization is “Lifestyle Medicine,” which highlights how factors under our control — diet, exercise, sleep, stress management, and reducing synthetic/ harmful substances — can not only reduce symptoms but improve long-term health.
We’ve come a long way since the days when Premarin® (pregnant mare urine) was the dominant prescription for the approximate 38% of menopausal women in the late 1990s to manage the symptoms. The drug was largely abandoned after a 2002 landmark study linking it to significantly increased risk of breast cancer and heart disease.
Since then, however, healthy menopausal women have turned to a variety of natural products to manage symptoms, notably hot flashes, weight gain and mood fluctuations. Popular supplements were soy isoflavones and red clover.
Now, LJ100® is the newest herb to provide outstanding quality of life benefits for menopausal women who will not be defeated by symptoms such as hot flashes and mood swings. A new published study is the first to link Tongkat Ali supplementation with diminished intensity and frequency of common discomforts associated with menopause.
Study Details
The study is a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group trial with three arms: placebo, 50 mg LJ100® Tongkat Ali, and 100 mg Tongkat Ali. Participants in the 12-week study were women aged 40 to 55.
The researchers looked at how the herb affected menopause quality of life (MENQOL), mood states, energy, sleep quality, sexual function and pain score. Secondary goals were to look at hormone profile: progesterone, testosterone, estradiol, follicle stimulating hormone, and luteinizing hormone as well as key inflammation biomarkers.
Results were crystal clear: LJ100® provided improvements in the variety of symptoms experienced during menopause. Specifically: significant improvement in menopause quality of life in the domains of physical, sexual and total scores. There were also noticeable easing of tension and depression/low mood and a decrease in fatigue. In addition, LJ100 positively impacted sex hormone profile in menopausal women: increased progesterone, and reductions in luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone.
The researchers concluded that menopausal women who supplemented with LJ100 for three months experienced improved menopausal symptoms, especially in physical and sexual related symptoms, as well as tension, low mood and fatigue. In tandem, LJ100 was able to improve hormonal balance by reducing FSH and LH & improving progesterone.
As the first study to link LJ100’s benefits for menopausal women, you can be a Supplement Sooner in the menopause-support product space!
