What is CBD?

  • CBD stands for Cannabidiol
  • It is one of the active compounds found in the cannabis plant alongside THC – Tetrahydrocannabidiol
  • Unlike THC, CBD has no psychoactive effects
  • HPI’s CBD is extracted in the form of oil from hemp plants only

How Does CBD Work in Our Bodies?

  • CBD interacts with the naturally occurring cannabinoid receptors
  • The human body naturally produces cannabinoid receptors, known as the Endogenous Cannabinoid System (ECS), which regulates sleep patterns, pain sensation, and immune system functions
  • ECS is split into two main receptors: CB1 and CB2
  • CB1 Receptors: appetite, sleep, general sense of well-being, memory, and pain
  • CB2 Receptors: immune and nervous systems
  • CBD activates certain receptors and inhibits others

Before HPI…

Traditional CBD oil contains large liposomes that are difficult for the body to digest: only 6%-10% makes it through the digestive system and into the bloodstream — 90% is wasted.
Some nano products measure as high as 1000nm with a broad distribution of particle sizes. These large liposomes cannot be transported transcellularly and are slowed down in the GI environment.

Our Solution:

  • Fast-acting, high absorption, water-soluble delivery system
  • Produced at pharmaceutical-grade manufacturing facility
  • Highly bioavailable nanoparticles, 20-70 nanometers (nm)
  • More surface area, more stable, uniform, and tightly distributed unilamellar liposome spheres for enhanced bioavailability
  • Absorbed upon immediate contact with skin as topical, or sublingual through mucous membranes of the mouth, upper gastrointestinal tract and stomach, avoiding absorption constraints normally posed by the small intestine.
  • Absorption rate: almost at 100%

Fast Absorption Nano-emulsified Cannabidiol

  • Fast absorption time = 25 mins vs 110 mins
  • 7X efficacy compared to non-nano-emulsified cannabidiol
  • Less product is required for effective dose management:
  • 10mg = 70mg of CBD tincture
  • Beverages, tinctures, blending, baked goods, pet products, topicals
  • 40-50 nanometers

  • CBD affects stress, tension, healthy inflammatory response, cognitive function, and mor
  • CBN affects sleep, healthy inflammatory response
  • CBG affects energy, focus, bone morphology, bowel function and vision health
  • CBC affects skin, mood, brain structure and function, and healthy inflammatory response

113 Different Cannabinoids

The Human Endocannabinoid System

CBD, CBN, and THC fit like a lock and key into existing human receptors.

These receptors are part of the
Endocannabinoid System which impact physiological processes affecting pain modulation, memory, and appetite. This system also impacts inflammatory and specific immune responses.

The Endocannabinoid System comprises two types of receptors, CB1 and CB2, which serve distinct functions in human health and
well-being.

Receptors are found on cell surfaces
  • CB1 receptors are primarily found in the brain and central nervous system, and to a lesser extent in other tissues.
  • CBD does not directly “fit” CB1 or CB2 receptors but has powerful indirect effects still being studied
  • CB2 receptors are mostly in the peripheral organs especially cells associated with the immune system.

Dosage:

Dosage depends on body weight, condition you are treating, and individual body chemistry.
Human studies use dosages 20 – 1500 milligrams (mg) per day.
Everyone’s endocannabinoid system responds uniquely to cannabinoids. One person may only need 1-5 mg when another needs 10-20 mg.
Recommendation: Start low and slow, adding until the desired effect is achieved. https://www.healthline.com/health/cbd-dosage
