About NOMax™

NOMax™ is particularly rich in flavanone-O-glycosides and is characterized by a unique profile of flavonoids; NOMax™ contains the highest concentrations of flavanones: neoeriocitrin, neohesperidin, naringin, poncirin, rhoifolin, neodiosmin, and Vicenin-2. NOMax™ also contains a high content of unsaturated fatty acids, accounting for 80% of total acids, such as oleic acid, linoleic acid and palmitic acid. NOMax™ has been proven in both animal and human clinical research to be effective in maintaining healthy cholesterol and blood glucose levels, while increasing cHDL.

NOMax™ acts in synergy with L-arginine to increase the production of endothelium nitric oxide, while providing excellent antioxidant protection to reduce the harmful effects of free radicals in stressful situations like sustained and repeated physical activity. Efficacy Findings from Clinical Trials

In a multi-center, placebo controlled human clinical, 237 individuals who exhibited some sort of reduction of flow-mediated vasodilatation were given either placebo, 500mg, or 1000mg of NOMax™ for 30 days. An average 20% to 50% improvement in vasodilation was observed in both the 500mg and 1000mg active group.

 

Blood Glucose Modulation

High blood glucose can be detrimental to athletes. In a clinical study with 1000 athletes, elevated blood sugar levels resulted in reduced exercise capacity, and reduced sport performance. The trial showed that subjects with impaired fasting glucose or elevated blood glucose levels (126 mg/dl), experienced lower VO2max and lower peak watts.

In a placebo controlled human clinical trial with 237 patients, supplementation with NOMax™ helped maintain healthy blood glucose levels, with an average reduction of 20%.

 

Regulating Phosphodiesterases PDEs

PDEs catalyzed hydrolysis of cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate) or cGMP, regulated their intracellular concentrations and physiological effects of these second messengers. PDE3B, and PDE4 are characterized by their high affinity for cAMP and can play critical roles in regulating energy metabolism, glucose metabolism and homeostasis. cAMP activates a protein kinase, PKA and indirectly activates AMPK, a central regulator of lipolysis and glucose metabolism. NOMax™ mediates their beneficial effects on glucose homeostasis by PDE4 and PDE3B modulation.

 

Activating AMPK

Recently, there has been enormous interest in the potential role of skeletal muscle AMPK in exercise-stimulated glucose uptake as a possible target for glucose balance. Flavanones in NOMax™ activate AMPK and can stimulate glucose uptake. AMPK plays a central role in regulating healthy glucose metabolism and energy production, in several different organs working as a sensor of AMP/ATP level. AMPK activation may prevent abdominal fat accumulation, regulate glucose tolerance, and reduce oxidative stress. NOMax™ activates the glucose transporter GLUT1 in all cells and the upregulation and translocation of GLUT4 to the cell membrane in muscle cells.

 

Recommended Dosage

The recommended dosage of NOMax™ for optimal effect, according to published studies, is 500mg to 1000mg/day. This dosage may offer vasodilation, glucose balance, and antioxidant properties. Dosage could be increased up to 1500mg/day. NO Max™ should be taken 30 minutes prior to physical activity. For pro-long physical activity (such as a several hour marathon), it is recommended to take 1000mg of NOMax™ every hour to maintain its effect as long as necessary.
