Gevuina is a species pertaining to the Proteacea family, a native tree from the temperate rainforest of Chile, which produce a tasty nut which contains natural oil that has therapeutic properties. The nut is related to macadamia nut, contains about 12.5% protein, 49.5% oil, 24.1% carbohydrate, rich in fiber, minerals, amino acids, lipids, lipid soluble vitamins, sterols, highlighted by the correlation of the lipid profile and the structure of the antioxidant complex. The roasted seed can also be used as coffee substitute. The seeds contain high amounts of good quality oil, suitable for both food and for cosmetic applications.

Gevuina Oil Composition
Gevuina oil contains high percentage of unsaturated fatty acids (oleic, palmitoleic, linoteic, and linolenic), Vitamin E (a-tocotrienol), b-carotein, fitoesterols and a number of other amino acids. Gevuina oil has a light yellow color and soft aroma. The oil is cold extruded without chemicals and possesses unique physical and chemical characteristics that are beneficial in animal and human health. Gevuina Oil contains almost all monounsaturated fatty acid (80%) such as Palmitic acids or hexadecanoic (C16:1 ∆11), one fraction of vitamin E (α- tocotrienol) and sterols. The oil contains a very high content of Omega 7 (palmitoleic acid), that is rare in natural form. It also has a very high index of absorbance to UVB light (between 280nm and 320nm).

Gevuina Nut Oil contains 80% monounsaturated fat (healthier than Olive Oil). Gevuina nuts, like olive oil, are high in oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid believed to be beneficial in reducing cholesterol. The nuts are the only food to also contain significant amounts of palmitoleic acid, another monounsaturated fatty acid.
